My Dog Rogue
I got my dog Rogue a couple of years ago. She is a husky with huge amounts of energy. When we first got her she was always running around looking for a place to stick her nose into. We would try to keep her out of a certain part of the house, and she would always find a way around. Automatically we knew that she was going to grow up to be a very smart dog. Although after a couple of days her energy started to diminish. At first we thought nothing of it, but then when we would take her out to go to the bathroom she would just fall over as if she didn’t even have the energy to stand. This had us really worried, and we started to keep a careful eye on her. Whenever she did manage to go to the bathroom it was like straight liquid, and eventually was laced with blood. My family decided to take her to the vet because they feared something was seriously wrong. The vet results came back positive with parvo. This meant we had to make a decision and fast. Parvo is normally deadly to puppies if not caught early enough. So do we spend the money trying to save her or do we let her die. Well that wasn’t much of a choice for any of us. We had already bonded with the beautiful dog, and were not ready to let her go. So we agreed to the treatment and had to leave her in the hospital for about a week and a half. The people that we got Rogue from felt terrible and agreed to pay for the hospital bill without any hesitation. Rogue ended up recovering fully, and became the energy furball she was meant to be. Her favorite things to do are running around the pool, digging holes, or chasing anything. To this day she never lost her unkempt energy. Sometimes my dad jokes about getting rid of her because of all the hair she gets everywhere, and her constant running, but he likes the dog just as much as the rest of us. I’m so glad she is still part of the family, because she always manages to make me smile when I’m around her. Although the cats probably wish that we would have gotten rid of her, because they are one of the things that Rogue enjoys chasing.
