My Cat Katara
I got my cat Katara about 8 years ago along with my other cat Momo. They are litter mates, and Katara is probably more of the evil sister, especially when she is around new people. Katara’s favorite person is probably my Mom. She is always laying on her bed except when my brother comes in the room. Neither of my cats like my brother and for good reason, because he is not a fan of the cats either. So when my brother starts walking towards them they tense up and get ready to run. I wouldn’t say Katara likes me but she tolerates me. This is because she lets me pet her occasionally and even lets me annoy her on occasion. She normally does not come when you call her but sometimes she will when you get her in a good mood, or if she wants you to refill her food bowl. When we have visitors over she either hides or guards the door. If they manage to find her she will hiss really loudly and growl. She may be mean to people she doesn’t know but to her family she can be really nice. One of the things she does is guards the door between my dad’s living room and the rest of the house. If she likes the person she just moves out of the way but if she doesn’t like them or if it is the dog she will growl and hiss. She doesn’t do much other than lay around and eat, but she is a good buddy for my Mom. Her and Momo tend to get along, but occasionally during the night they will just run back and forth chasing each other. Normally it is Momo who starts it but they both are at fault. Although they never actually hurt each other they both get pretty angry. If Momo ever goes outside the house, Katara gets so mad at her that she will hiss at her for about a week. I wonder if it's just because she smells weird and unfamiliar or if she plain just doesn’t want her going outside. Even though Katara seems like the evil cat they complement each other really well and I wouldn’t trade her for another cat ever. She is part of the family, and has her own personality that we have all come to respect. Even my dad has come to respect the way she acts.
